Celebration
- Saturday, February 26, 2000, 6:30-9:00 pm at the Grand Hyatt
at Union Square, 345 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA.
NJAHS's annual fundraising dinner celebrated the 10th
anniversary of our exhibition Strength & Diversity,
Japanese American Women, 1885-1990, which opened at The
Oakland Museum of California. The keynote speaker was
U.S. Congresswoman Patsy Takemoto Mink of Hawaii. She
will be honored along with Ruth Asawa and
Michi Onuma.
Earlier that day, from 10:30am-1:00pm a symposium will be held
at the Oakland Museum. Both events paid tribute to the
strength of generations of Japanese American women as they
continue to struggle and triumph in a diversity of
endeavors. Call NJAHS for info and reservations.
