Sustaining the Legacy: Cultural Preservation and Stewardship

Join us for the NJAHS Annual Awards Dinner “Sustaining the Legacy: Cultural Preservation and Stewardship” at the Radisson Miyako Hotel in San Francisco‚Äôs Japantown on Saturday, March 20, 2004, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The event will be hosted by Sydnie Kohara, anchor of CBS 5 Eyewitness News Early Edition. Assemblyman Leland Yee will accept the award on behalf of the APIA Legislative Caucus.

The theme of the gala dinner is "Sustaining the Legacy: Cultural Preservation and Stewardship." Each of the legislators represents a commitment to education, historic preservation, the environment, immigrant rights and other aspects of the APIA legacy.

Keynote Speaker and Honoree: Kevin Starr, California State Librarian

Honoring Asian American Legislators: Wilma Chan (D), Judy Chu (D), Shirley Horton (R), Carol Liu (D), Alan Nakanishi (R), George Nakano (D) and Leland Yee (D).

Honoring Community Partner: Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation.

Submit a sealed bid beginning March 12 to win a Lexus 330, courtesy of Lexus of Concord. The auction will be held at the awards dinner.
